23/7 The laptop computer was hooked up to the speakers by the western wall and the Elsewhere Right Now concert was played through them. On the screen could be seen a slideshow of photographs from the concert. The cut-out drawings of a house were removed from the western wall. The drawing of the interior of a room was moved from it's position to the left of the drawing of some people in a bar and instead placed next to the photograph of a grapevine-covered patio. To the right of this photograph a new cut-out drawing of a house with a figure standing in the kitchen was placed. The cut-out drawing of a figure playing instruments in an apartment was placed right above the new cut-out drawing of a house, also linking it up to the drawing of some figures walking outside of a cafe ("Vox Pop"). The new cut-out drawing of a house overlapped with the drawing of a figure in a landscape of tangled lines with the word-balloon saying "Jag vet att det vänder". Right below this drawing was placed another one portraying several concerts taking place in several different locations: at the Bowery Ballroom, at Trädgårn, and on a pier. Word balloons in the drawing read "You are the light", "Girlfren", "Let her go into the darkness", "let her go", "let her go", "let her go" and "Don't rush to be by my side". To this drawing the cut-out drawing of a building ("Trädgårn") was attached, linking it up on the left side with the drawing of some heads, a chalice and a figure laying in a sofa listening to a stereo with the head of Morrissey floating above it. Right below the drawing of the concerts the cut-out drawing of a house with three figures in a kitchen (one of them playing guitar), and several others in the living room was placed. The photograph of a flyer for a Sonic Youth/YeahYeahYeah's show on the inner eastern wall was moved and placed underneath the cluster of drawings and photographs depicting, among other things, snow-covered streets, a walking figure and a word-balloon reading "boys don't cry". At the outer eastern wall a drawing of a figure walking in a forest was placed to the left of the drawing of the band Kartoffel Menschen Trio performing the song "Disco Chaos", linking it up to the photograph of clusters of berries growing on a tree. Right below the drawing of the walking figure was placed the drawing of some figures in a landscape with an underground cavern. To the left of this drawing a photograph of a large building in a classical style, surrounded by trees and standing next to a river, was attached. Another drawing was placed to the right, this one depicting some figures in a bar (word-balloons reading "Spuyten Duyvil", "Beer", "Lambic beer", "I have to go to a restaurant with my ex", "Can we swap shirts?" and "Sure"), a shirt, a figure singing into a microphone and a band playing on the moon above it. Below this drawing another drawing depicting several figures in a cityscape (eating in restaurants named "Gandhi" and "The V-spot" and standing in an instrument-store) was situated. Word balloons read "Morning Star!", "It's just a fuckin' planet", "Gandhi", "Funny", "Egyptology", "Isis...Virgin Mary", "Bell", "General Slocum Disaster Centennial plaque...boat caught fire at Hell's Gate", "Goddess Inanna attributed to Venus, morning/evening star", "Goddess Inanna orginial Virgin Mary archetype, descended into the netherworld. Hell's Gate". Two bands could also be seen performing in the drawing -one playing "You are the light". The other band, with the name "Entombed" emblazoned on the drum-kit, perform a song with the text-lines "Phosphorus Lucifer Praise to the Morning Star". A bridge could also be seen on the drawing. To the left of this drawing yet another one was placed, this one with a figure in front of a classical-style building with parasols bearing the legend "Luna Park" and a statue outside of it, as well as a moon above it. Word-balloons attached to the figure read "There's another Lincoln statue by the same sculptor in Prospect Park" and "Where Lincoln once stood now Gandhi stands". There is some greenery and two other statues in the drawing: a figure is standing in front of one of them with a word-balloon reading "Gandhi". Two other buildings could also be seen in the drawing, as well as subway entrances. The cut-out drawing of a figure wearing a Sonic Youth t-shirt and looking at a combined peace and anarchy sign was added to the cluster of drawings of figures on the edge of the wall. . |
